The kitchen is located between other rooms and needed to be more open and have more space. Therefore, we had to take out some walls to make it more functional.
Our client wanted to have a spacious kitchen that suits the older-style house and has enough storage room for all kitchen appliances and pantry. It was one of the biggest challenges of this project, as we wanted to provide enough storage without obstructing the walkways between the rooms.
Our experts worked on the design with the client and created a traditional double galley style kitchen with classic white cabinetry. To stay with the building’s original style, we kept the wall and ceiling decorative mouldings and used the old fireplace for more storage options and a spot for a microwave. We installed Calacutta marble-style splashback and benchtops to suit the traditional style of the kitchen.
We wanted to make sure all kitchen cabinets are in the right spot without blocking the walkways. Moreover, our goal was to hide the kitchen appliances for a clean, sleek effect. Therefore, opposite the kitchen, we built large pantry cabinets with roller doors for the appliance cupboard and mesh doors for the pantry.
The finished project is an exact answer to the client’s brief – an open, classic kitchen with plenty of storage options and a functional pantry.
